Cardiac Electrophysiologist – Full‑Time Academic Physician

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center are recruiting a full‑time academic Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join the Division of Cardiology. The faculty position involves clinical practice for EP patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching responsibilities, and opportunities for clinical, translational, and outcomes research.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive EP clinical care for inpatient and outpatient populations.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and cardiovascular fellows.
• Conduct clinical, translational, and outcomes research supported by intra‑mural funding.
• Perform device implantations, laser lead extractions, and complex ablations, including Impella‑supported ventricular tachycardia ablations.
• Execute left atrial appendage closure procedures.

Required profile

• Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Fellowship training and board certification or eligibility in Electrophysiology.

Required skills

• Device implantation techniques.
• Laser lead extraction.
• Complex cardiac ablation, including Impella‑supported VT ablation.
• Left atrial appendage closure.
