About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Supply Chain department is seeking a full‑time Buyer 1 to work in a hybrid setting in Hialeah, FL. The Buyer will support end‑users by ensuring timely, cost‑effective purchases and maintaining excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Process requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with contracts and finance guidelines.
- Research and recommend products that maximize existing contracts.
- Validate order details, including authorization, pricing, and delivery instructions.
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, delivery, and contract terms.
- Assist customers via email or phone, handling special purchase requests and rush orders.
- Maintain proficiency with order management and requisition systems.
- Support clinical and administrative staff with product and contract information.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum two years of relevant procurement or purchasing experience.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
