Business Development Consultant

About the role

Manulife John Hancock Investments, an asset manager, is hiring a Business Development Consultant in Boston on a hybrid basis. The consultant makes outbound calls to financial advisors outside British Columbia (Focus 500) to generate interest in company products and solutions, and works toward performance targets on contacts, appointments, show rates and new producers.

Key responsibilities

• Make an average of 60 outbound calls per day to financial advisors outside BC Focus 500.
• Educate advisors on company products and solutions to generate interest.
• Qualify prospects and schedule meetings with external sales representatives.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, contacts and appointments in CRM systems.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth handoff and follow-up.
• Achieve performance targets tied to contacts made, appointments set, show rates and new producers.
• Continuously improve product knowledge and sales communication techniques.

Required profile

• Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses (or a combination of Series 63 and 65).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: interest in capital markets and desire to gain sales experience in financial services.
• Preferred: basic understanding of financial products and advisor needs.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong verbal communication, relationship management and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume outbound calling environment and to meet daily call targets.
