Building Mechanical and Utility System Project Manager

About the role

The Building Mechanical and Utility System Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and close‑out of mechanical, HVAC, energy‑management and building‑automation projects for Miami University. The role involves coordination with state agencies, architects, contractors and university departments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage projects from initiation through close‑out, including scope definition, cost estimating, bidding, contractor negotiations and schedule control.
• Oversee work coordination among trades, suppliers and end‑users, conduct inspections, ensure compliance with university standards and codes, and manage post‑occupancy follow‑up.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience installing or commissioning building mechanical systems and 5 years of project‑management experience in an engineering or contractor environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet university motor‑vehicle‑record policy.
