About the role
The Biomedical Engineer – Clinical Specialist will work directly in operating rooms, supporting physicians and staff to ensure optimal use of Brainlab’s Image Guided Surgery solutions. This on‑site role combines technical troubleshooting, product training and clinical workflow optimisation across assigned hospitals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide on‑site consulting and guidance to physicians and OR personnel during surgeries to maximise Brainlab product efficiency.
- Manage and maintain the installed base, including basic third‑party integrations.
- Analyze and resolve product issues via Salesforce, using detailed technical analysis and documentation.
- Recommend product modifications to contribute to quality improvement.
- Deliver clinical case coverage and support for complex cases and go‑live launches.
- Drive customer utilisation through unique workflows and special applications.
- Act as escalation point for regional clinical issues.
- Assist radiology staff with pre‑surgical scans and coordinate with central sterile processing, biomedical and IT teams.
- Develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff on Image Guided Surgery (IGS) products.
- Maintain regular contact with customers, assess satisfaction, and provide usage recommendations.
- Collaborate with Application Consultants, Account Managers and Marketing to promote upgrades, spare parts sales and R&D projects.
Required profile
- Experience working in clinical environments supporting biomedical equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills for training physicians, OR staff and technical teams.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and work flexible hours as needed.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Salesforce for issue tracking and documentation.
- Knowledge of Image Guided Surgery (IGS) systems and related medical device technology.
- Technical troubleshooting and product integration skills.
