Bicycle Retail Service Writer

About the role

Join our Greenville, SC bike shop as a Service Writer, supporting the service department by handling repairs, warranty work, and customer communications when the primary writer is unavailable. You will help ensure smooth operations, quality control, and a great experience for cyclists of all levels.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑the‑spot repairs, priority and warranty work, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Assist the lead service writer with intake, advanced troubleshooting, and final inspections on bike sales.
• Audit work orders, manage repair tickets, and maintain organized service bays and tools.
• Attach accessories, conduct final quality checks, and support large‑item installations such as car racks.

Required profile

• Genuine passion for bicycles and strong customer‑service orientation.
• Positive, team‑oriented attitude with reliable attendance and flexibility for evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, lift up to 50 lb, and follow directions accurately.

Required skills

• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Experience using Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive).
• Knowledge of bike components, accessories, and fitting techniques (bike mechanic experience preferred).
