BESS Technician

About the role

Spark Power is seeking a BESS Technician to join its team in Angleton, TX. The role involves working on utility‑scale solar farms and battery systems, handling commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical repairs to support the transition to renewable energy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform firmware updates, module replacements, and charging/discharging of batteries.
• Execute safety procedures, including LOTO plans, tailgate meetings, and electrical work permits.
• Interpret schematics and blueprints, conduct preventative maintenance, and follow OEM maintenance standards such as NETA MTS and CSA Z463.
• Document work through digital reporting, quality‑assurance checklists, and routine safety documentation.
• Participate in on‑call weekend service rotation and overtime as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education in electrical or mechanical fields is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and ability to lift 75 lb.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
• Pass a drug test and background check if offered employment.
