Battery Quality Engineer

About the role

TTI Consumer Power Equipment, Inc. is hiring a Battery Quality Engineer for its Anderson, SC office. The engineer works in a cross-functional team supporting the development, launch, production and continuous improvement of lithium-ion battery packs, defining, implementing and monitoring quality deliverables across product development and mature lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead quality on new product development projects and deliver quality-owned deliverables.
• Champion continuous improvement of processes and products.
• Analyze return and warranty data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
• Review product audits, use-testing, customer reviews and consumer reports to spot issues and improvement opportunities.
• Act as subject matter expert for problem solving, documenting issues, root causes and corrective actions.
• Define quality control criteria and ensure compliance with the quality control plan.
• Review and support the release of engineering drawings, and inspect parts and components against drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate testing procedures and results for new product qualification, initiate testing, and support supplier qualification and development.
• Track and approve PPAPs as needed, and identify cost improvement opportunities.
• Create problem summaries and reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (EE preferred, ME or related acceptable).
• Preferred: 3+ years of product development and/or product-based continuous improvement experience.
• Preferred: 2+ years of APQP/PPAP experience.
• Preferred: working knowledge of a QMS such as ISO 9001.
• Strong understanding of engineering and product design concepts, excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Able to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
• Physical ability to sit at a desk for long periods and to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
