Bartender - Cascade (On Call)

About the role

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, a luxury property in Tucson's Catalina Foothills, is hiring an on-call bartender for its Cascade bar. The role combines strong customer engagement with precise drink preparation, working with a dynamic team to keep guests coming back. Veterans and military spouses are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer and specialty drinks, following recipes and guest preferences
• Create and recommend unique cocktails tailored to individual guest tastes
• Greet guests warmly, take drink orders from guests and servers, and answer questions about menu options
• Handle guest complaints or special requests professionally
• Set up the bar at the start of each shift and keep it clean and organized, including glassware, surfaces and waste disposal
• Monitor and report inventory levels for beverages, garnishes and supplies
• Follow safety, sanitation and alcohol service regulations, verify guest identification and enforce responsible service
• Collaborate with servers, barbacks and kitchen staff, assist with restocking and support barback duties during busy periods
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings, and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Previous experience in a food and beverage setting is required; bartending experience is highly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Physical ability to stand, stoop, bend and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktail recipes, preparation techniques, glassware and bar equipment
• Knowledge of alcohol service regulations (TIPS or local state-approved certification or ability to obtain it)
• Basic computer proficiency for order processing and inventory tracking
