Barista - TOTEME Caf

About the role

TOTEME, a fashion house founded in 2014, is looking for a full-time Barista to join its team at the new TOTEME Caf on Madison Avenue, next to the New York flagship store. You will prepare and serve coffee, beverages, baked goods and other products while providing welcoming service and keeping the caf clean and organised. You report to the Store Manager and work directly with the Caf and Madison Avenue Store Team.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome customers and deliver attentive, knowledgeable service in line with TOTEME's standards.
• Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages consistently and to a high standard.
• Present and sell baked goods and other caf products.
• Process orders and payments accurately through the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and presentation.
• Replenish products and supplies, receive deliveries and communicate stock needs.
• Complete opening, closing, cleaning and daily preparation tasks.
• Support colleagues and contribute to smooth, efficient service each shift.
• Contribute to TOTEME's social and environmental sustainability strategy.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a caf, specialty coffee, food service or hospitality environment.
• Barista experience and knowledge of espresso equipment preferred.
• NYC food protection certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

Required skills

• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash handling.
• Knowledge of espresso equipment.

What we offer

• Full-time position starting in November 2026.
• Hourly pay of $17-$19 before tax, set according to profile, skills and experience.
