Avionics Technician, Electrical Engineering (V-BAT Aircraft)

About the role

Shield AI is growing its Avionics Engineering team to support development of the V-BAT aircraft, a flight-critical, custom avionics system covering communications, compute, AI, power, telemetry and other aircraft systems. An Avionics Technician supports the entire Avionics team and cross-functional teams, spanning design, verification, procurement, manufacturing and test, and works closely with the Electrical Engineering team on the V-BAT electrical systems and circuit boards.

Required profile

• 6+ years working in an electrical engineering lab or equivalent.
• Experience performing benchtop testing with basic EE equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, electronic loads and thermal chambers.
• Ability to design basic test fixtures and fabricate wire harnesses from engineering drawings.
• Experience on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, such as internships, jobs, clubs, teams or personal projects.
• Demonstrated ownership of project outcomes and a record of being a trustworthy teammate who holds themselves and others to high standards.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting schematics.
• Reworking circuit boards down to at least 0402 parts.
• Designing basic wire harnesses or simple circuit boards (may be able to).
