Avionics Systems Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, implementation, and analysis of complete air‑vehicle avionics systems. The role involves close interaction with customers and internal engineering teams to deliver customized solutions for special‑mission, defense, and general aviation platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer product requests, develop conceptual designs, and propose feasible design changes to meet requirements.
• Perform system and software integration activities, verify functionality, and support ground and flight testing.
• Prepare and execute functional hazard assessments, system safety assessments, FMEAs, and fault‑tree analyses.
• Provide certification support for TSO and STC projects, ensuring compliance with FAA and other authority regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum three years of avionics engineering experience, including design, development, and testing.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain export‑controlled information clearance.

Required skills

• Avionics system design and integration.
• Knowledge of FAA and other avionics certification processes.
• Experience with requirements management tools.
• Proficiency in conducting ground and flight tests.
• Familiarity with functional hazard assessment, system safety assessment, FMEA, and fault‑tree analysis.
