Avionics Engineering Intern (Fall 2026)

About the role

Rendezvous Robotics is developing modular spacecraft components that self‑assemble in orbit. As an Avionics Engineering Intern you will support the design, testing, and bring‑up of power electronics for these next‑generation spacecraft.

Key responsibilities

• Support design and review of power electronics, including battery management and protection circuits.
• Work on PCB design for onboard avionics.
• Analyze cross‑domain fault behavior and edge cases in the power system.
• Assist with power distribution and bus architecture across internal interfaces.
• Help bring‑up and debug avionics hardware on the bench.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Coursework or project experience in power electronics or analog/digital circuit design.
• Familiarity with PCB design tools such as KiCad or Altium.

Required skills

• Experience with gate drivers, DC‑DC converters, or battery management systems (preferred).
• Understanding of isolated sensing or isolated power architectures (preferred).
• Exposure to embedded firmware for hardware bring‑up (preferred).
• Proficiency using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other bench equipment (preferred).
