Automotive Technology Faculty (Tenure-Track)

About the role

Columbia-Greene Community College, a rural community college in Hudson, NY, is seeking a tenure-track faculty member for its Automotive Technology program. The successful candidate will help develop and deliver high-quality courses for automotive technology students and contribute to revising the curriculum to reflect hybrid, electric and computer-integrated vehicles, as well as strengthening links with local dealerships and employers.

Key responsibilities

• Update existing program and course curriculum and develop new instructional materials and techniques.
• Maintain expertise in current teaching methods, technologies and curricula.
• Assist with student learning outcome creation and assessment.
• Support new and existing local business partnerships that benefit students.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators on instruction, curriculum and student success.
• Help select course materials, equipment, technology and online instruction.
• Hold regular office hours with students and take part in professional development.
• Serve on department, division and college committees and perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related field.
• Teaching experience in automotive technology.
• Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree, relevant automotive technology certifications, background in a community college or rural setting, and experience with diverse groups.

• Contractual starting salary of $51,000-$55,000, with rank based on education and experience.
