Automated Test Engineer Expert

About the role

Leidos is seeking an Application Tester (Automated Test Engineer) for a technical development program of 200+ FTE supporting the Sponsor's Attribute/Entitlement Services within the IDAM/ICAM space. The test engineer supports the test of access control systems for a government customer and helps ensure secure, reliable and uninterrupted availability of IT systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain test plans for web, mobile and API testing.
• Execute manual tests to identify defects and report them to the development team.
• Collaborate with developers and QA peers to identify test scenarios and automation opportunities.
• Contribute to test planning, case design and documentation.
• Support user acceptance testing by including roles, writing test scripts, reporting results and scheduling testing meetings with UAT users.
• Stay familiar with agile methodology and continuous feature testing, and keep up with emerging test automation tools and techniques.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience.
• Software professional experience in QA with a focus on automation.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of automation frameworks/tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright and Katalon.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript or C#).
• API testing experience (Postman, REST Assured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC and Agile/Scrum.
• Desired: Katalon automation testing, SQL for database testing, Git, performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
