Attorney – Emerging Growth Companies (Professional Track)

About the role

DLA Piper is seeking an experienced attorney to join its corporate group through the Professional Track Attorney program. The role focuses on emerging growth companies and the institutional investors that support them, handling venture capital financings, M&A transactions, and corporate governance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with partners, clients, colleagues, and third parties, both verbally and in writing.
• Produce timely, accurate deliverables, respond to calls and correspondence, and meet all deadlines.
• Analyze complex legal issues, apply legal principles, and provide well‑reasoned work product.
• Maintain availability during business hours, evenings, and weekends to ensure timely service delivery.
• Work under pressure, sustain intense concentration, and manage both sedentary and occasional travel requirements.
• Foster client relationships, anticipate needs, and contribute to business development.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and staff.
• Observe all firm policies and practices.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• 5–8 years of experience in emerging growth or venture capital matters, including financings and M&A.
• Demonstrated professional excellence in oral and written communication, legal analysis, and strategic thinking.
• Strong client impact orientation, project management skills, and initiative.
• Effective relationship building, people management, and inclusive teamwork.
• Leadership qualities such as entrepreneurship, business development, professionalism, and integrity.
