Athletics Business Coordinator II

About the role

The Athletics Business Coordinator II supports the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at Tarleton State University, reporting to senior leadership and handling a range of business activities, including budgeting, financial reporting, procurement, and administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing, monitoring, and reconciling departmental and team budgets, tracking revenues and expenditures, and providing variance analysis.
• Design, maintain, and enhance a dynamic budget dashboard; produce regular financial reports for athletics leadership.
• Oversee Purchasing Card usage, ensure compliance with institutional, state, and NCAA guidelines, and provide training on purchasing procedures.
• Ensure financial activities comply with institutional, conference, NCAA policies, and audit standards; maintain documentation for audits.
• Collaborate with coaches and staff on budget planning, travel expenses, and purchasing needs; support contract tracking and vendor payments.
• Assist with human resource functions such as recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of related experience in finance, budgeting, or business operations.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
