Associate/Full Professor & Division Chair – Nursing

About the role

Texas A&M University‑Texarkana seeks an experienced nursing scholar to lead its Division of Nursing. The Associate/Full Professor & Division Chair will guide academic programs, support research, and ensure high‑quality teaching for the East Texas Rural Healthcare initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as chief academic officer of the Nursing Division, reporting to the Dean.
• Oversee budgeting, curriculum planning, and course scheduling for the division.
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate tenure‑track, non‑tenure‑track, and adjunct faculty.
• Maintain a 3‑hour teaching load each fall and spring semester, with optional summer teaching.
• Represent the division in college and university leadership meetings.
• Address student needs and coordinate division committees.

Required profile

• PhD or terminal degree in Nursing or related field.
• Demonstrated record of scholarship, research, and teaching excellence.
• Experience in academic administration and faculty leadership.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Texas Board of Nursing regulations.
• Budget management and strategic planning abilities.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
