Associate/Full Professor and Director of Biomedical Imaging Center

About the role

The College of Science at Northeastern University seeks an Associate or Full Professor to lead the Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center (NUBIC) within the Institute for Cognitive and Brain Health. The role combines senior faculty duties with directorship of a state‑of‑the‑art 3T MRI facility.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and manage all MRI imaging functions, including scheduling, maintenance, and user support.
• Develop and expand a user‑base of interdisciplinary scientists conducting functional, diffusion, spectroscopy, and structural MRI research.
• Provide scientific training to MRI users on data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and maintain an externally funded research program.

Required profile

• Internationally recognized, well‑funded research program in human MRI/fMRI or related discipline.
• Expertise in building interdisciplinary collaborations across psychology, neuroscience, engineering, health sciences, and related fields.
• Leadership experience managing imaging facilities and supervising technical staff.

Required skills

• Human MRI/fMRI research expertise.
• Experience with functional, diffusion, spectroscopy, and structural MRI techniques.
• Proficiency in MRI data acquisition, processing, and analysis workflows.
