Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (Neurotherapeutics)

About the role

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences to join its outpatient clinic and the emerging Rapid Neurotherapeutics initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluation and treatment for patients with substance use disorders and co‑occurring conditions.
• Deliver evidence‑based pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic interventions, including medication treatment for opioid use disorder.
• Develop individualized, longitudinal treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Teach and supervise medical students, psychiatry residents, fellows, and other learners.
• Participate in clinical innovation, quality improvement, scholarly activity, and clinical research.
• Collaborate with faculty across psychiatry and other disciplines on addiction and rapid neurotherapeutics projects.

Required profile

• M.D. degree and eligibility for medical licensure in Florida.
• Completion of an ACGME‑accredited psychiatry residency.
• Psychiatry fellowship training or equivalent specialized clinical experience.
• Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
• Demonstrated expertise in assessment and treatment of substance use disorders.
