Associate Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Associate Mechanical Engineer to join Heliox’s hardware development team in Atlanta. You will help design, develop, and optimize high‑power DC fast‑charging solutions for fleet and commercial customers, gaining hands‑on experience in the fast‑growing EV infrastructure sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design, modify, and optimize mechanical components and sub‑assemblies using 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
• Set up and conduct mechanical testing to verify structural integrity, thermal performance, and compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) and support Engineering Change Requests for legacy products.
• Create detailed production documentation, including 2D manufacturing drawings, tolerancing, and assembly instructions.
• Generate technical training material, user manuals, and documentation for new product launches.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to assess capabilities, source components, and improve manufacturability (DFM).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 0–2 years of professional experience, strong internship or capstone projects valued.
• Hands‑on experience with 3D CAD modeling, preferably SolidWorks.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, material selection, and manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, injection molding, and machining.
