Project Manager – Pulp, Power & Recovery Capital Projects

About the role
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Project Manager to lead critical capital investments across its Pulp, Power & Recovery (PPR) operations in the Southeast United States. You will own the full lifecycle of multi‑million‑dollar projects, from concept through commissioning, ensuring safety, reliability, cost competitiveness, and environmental performance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage multiple capital projects ($10M‑$50M) through all phases (P0‑P6).
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
- Lead cross‑functional teams including engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, safety, and construction.
- Drive Front‑End Loading (FEL) development and execution readiness (P0‑P3).
- Facilitate project reviews, status reporting, executive updates, and stakeholder communications.
- Oversee detailed design, contractor coordination, outage execution, and startup activities (P4‑P6).
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Control scope changes and deliver projects that meet business case expectations.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive project management experience, including multi‑million‑dollar projects.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional engineering and construction teams.
- Experience with phase‑gate project management processes.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% for project development, execution, outages, and startups.
- Strong leadership, decision‑making, and executive communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
