Associate Licensed Insurance Sales Agent (Renters Insurance)

About the role

Assurant is hiring licensed insurance sales agents to join its team in a fast-paced, energetic environment. You will act as the point of contact for clients' insurance needs, handling inbound calls and selling Renters Insurance products while working remotely. The sales center is open 8AM to 10PM ET on weekdays and 10AM to 5PM ET on Saturdays, and earlier shifts can be earned through a quarterly, performance-based shift-bid process.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound calls for multiple products, with no prospecting or cold calling (90% of the work).
• Make outbound calls to follow up on existing quotes (10%).
• Sell Renters Insurance products and build a good relationship with clients' customers.
• Develop strategies to meet departmental monthly sales goals and track personal results against monthly sales and KPI targets.
• Negotiate sales while following underwriting requirements and corporate policies.
• Use a computerized data entry system and other applications for tracking, information gathering, troubleshooting and transaction processing.
• Complete mandatory licensure continuing education and training, and stay informed of changes affecting your work.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of sales-related experience, and one year of call center and/or insurance experience.
• A Property & Casualty or Personal Lines insurance license.
• Ability to become appointed/licensed as a non-resident agent in all applicable states.
