Associate – Institutional Structured Products

About the role

The Institutional Structured Products Associate will work within Santander’s U.S. Corporate Investment Banking division, supporting hedge funds, money managers, insurance companies, banks and other institutional clients. The role focuses on marketing, distributing and sourcing structured‑product securities such as MBS, ABS, CLOs, CMBS and private‑credit solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new sales prospects across existing and untapped institutional markets.
• Gather market intelligence, generate leads and develop proposals to drive new revenue.
• Maintain and deepen relationships with traders, portfolio managers and senior client contacts.
• Act as the primary point of contact, shaping client perception of Santander’s product suite.
• Coordinate between trading, banking and financing teams to deliver tailored solutions.
• Connect originators with lenders, buyers with sellers, and facilitate creative private‑credit structures.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of structured finance products, including MBS, ABS, CLOs, CMBS and esoteric credit.
• Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with institutional investors.
• Excellent market awareness and the capacity to anticipate client needs.
• Effective communication skills to convey complex solutions clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business lines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of structured finance products (MBS, ABS, CLOs, CMBS, private credit).
