Associate Director – University College

About the role

The Associate Director of University College partners with the Executive Director to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and high‑quality advising services for first‑year, pre‑professional, transfer, re‑entry, and exploratory students. This senior role ensures the delivery of student‑success initiatives and supports the overall undergraduate experience.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Executive Director to plan, implement, and evaluate recruitment, retention, and graduation strategies.
• Lead daily operations of University College advising, programming, and special‑population initiatives.
• Oversee workload distribution, caseload management, and service delivery for assigned units.
• Manage student‑success programs such as early alerts, academic standing interventions, and targeted outreach.
• Supervise five advising managers and three online counselors, handling hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluation.
• Develop and assess advising models, program effectiveness, and service quality.
• Ensure compliance with university policies, FERPA, advising regulations, and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in higher‑education leadership or student‑success administration.
• Strong ability to manage teams, foster a collaborative culture, and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with academic colleges, enrollment management, and campus partners.
• Demonstrated capacity to analyze data, assess program outcomes, and implement evidence‑based initiatives.
