Associate Director, Strategic Communications

About the role

The Associate Director, Strategic Communications partners with senior leadership of the Jewish Community Foundation to shape and deliver compelling messaging that highlights the Foundation’s philanthropic impact. This role translates strategic priorities into engaging campaigns, ensuring alignment with the broader Federation mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a communications strategy that raises awareness of the Foundation’s services and impact.
• Identify and act on opportunities to elevate the Foundation’s visibility within the community.
• Lead campaigns, thought‑leadership pieces, and communications initiatives that advance Foundation priorities.
• Advise leadership on messaging, positioning, and communications opportunities.
• Maintain consistent brand alignment across all Foundation communications.
• Measure performance, share insights, and recommend improvements based on audience engagement data.
• Create donor‑focused content that translates complex philanthropic concepts into clear, compelling stories.
• Manage an editorial calendar coordinated with Federation campaigns.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Foundation leadership and the Communications team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading communications strategy for nonprofit or foundation environments.
• Ability to partner with senior leaders and translate strategic goals into clear messaging.
• Strong storytelling skills, especially in articulating philanthropic impact.
• Experience managing editorial calendars and multi‑channel campaigns.
• Data‑driven mindset for measuring communication effectiveness.
