Associate Director, Procurement

About the role

The Associate Director, Procurement leads the sourcing, purchasing, and negotiation of goods and services essential to the organization’s operations. This senior position requires strategic thinking, strong negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of market dynamics to drive cost efficiencies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end procurement process, including requisition, RFX, purchasing, and delivery.
• Conduct vendor outreach, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable terms for both basketball and business operations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for procurement support, collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and provide value‑driven purchasing decisions.
• Identify, evaluate, and monitor vendors based on quality, price, and reliability; maintain a preferred‑vendor database.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, ensuring alignment with policy, thresholds, and documentation standards.
• Evaluate procurement tools and workflows, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
• Maintain centralized documentation to ensure audit readiness and transparency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline such as Economics, Business, or related field.
• Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing, and vendor management.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and achieve cost‑avoidance targets.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Capability to work independently and guide a team without heavy supervision.
