Associate Director of Early Education

About the role

The Associate Director of Early Education supports the Early Education Director in managing Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms, ensuring a developmentally appropriate program that meets state regulations and aligns with YMCA core focus areas.

Key responsibilities

• Implement a multicultural curriculum that fosters social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skill development.
• Ensure compliance with EEC regulations, MA Quality Rating, and NAEYC accreditation standards.
• Coordinate parent communications, conferences, and advisory committee activities.
• Develop weekly classroom observation schedules, daily program plans with monthly themes, and maintain accurate records for licensing and reporting.
• Prepare annual budget, manage fiscal responsibilities, and assist in grant proposal development.
• Provide direct classroom support 50% of the time, covering teacher duties, facilitating activities, and handling meal preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 5–7 years of professional teaching experience with staff supervision and curriculum development.
• Meet state EEC qualifications for Director II and be at least 21 years old.
• Demonstrated understanding of child developmental progression and program design.
