Associate Director, Global Marketing – Obesity

About the role

The Global Commercial Metabolism Team is shaping the worldwide commercial strategy for MSD's obesity portfolio. As Associate Director, Global Marketing – Obesity, you will drive insight‑driven strategies for assets in development, focusing on both healthcare professional (HCP) and healthcare customer (HCC) audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of global commercial strategies for obesity assets, ensuring they are future‑focused and aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Create differentiated HCP and HCC value propositions, including benefits, reasons to believe, and positioning.
• Apply the L3 brand strategy framework to define market focus, asset differentiators, early positioning, and transition plans to launch.
• Partner with Clinical Development, Market Access, Outcomes Research, Policy, Competitive Intelligence and regional teams to translate scientific and market insights into commercial implications.
• Monitor competitive landscape, synthesize insights, and translate them into actionable strategic recommendations.
• Develop governance materials, leadership updates, and cross‑functional decision documents that communicate commercial perspectives and risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in marketing, market access, strategy or related pharma/biotech roles.
• Experience in obesity, cardiometabolic, diabetes, cardiovascular, renal or similarly competitive therapeutic areas.
• Proven ability to synthesize complex market, clinical and competitive data into clear strategic recommendations.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills and ability to lead without authority.
• Advanced degree (MBA) preferred.
