Associate Director, Field Reimbursement Strategy – Oncology

About the role

The U.S. Oncology business at MSD is preparing for the potential launch of an innovative mRNA‑based individualized neoantigen therapy for early‑stage melanoma. Reporting to the Director, Patient Support Strategy Lead, the Associate Director will shape the field reimbursement strategy and governance to ensure seamless therapy delivery across complex payer landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Define the field reimbursement strategy, support model, and engagement priorities for the novel therapy.
• Develop targeting and engagement triggers for Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) to optimize patient access.
• Create non‑promotional reimbursement education resources, prior‑authorization tools, and workflow support materials.
• Partner with Market Access, field commercial leadership, and technology teams to align CRM capabilities and reporting solutions.
• Leverage field and reimbursement analytics to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology market access, reimbursement, or related commercial functions.
• Proven track record developing and optimizing field reimbursement and patient‑access programs.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of reimbursement and access landscapes, including prior‑authorization, appeals, and provider workflows.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and ability to translate strategy into execution.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
