Associate Director, Data Engineering and Analytics

About the role

The Associate Director, Data Engineering and Analytics will lead complex data initiatives within Small Molecule Science & Technology, translating business priorities into scalable, data‑driven solutions. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering and Analytics, this individual contributor role partners across manufacturing, scientific, and digital teams to improve data accessibility and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of data engineering and analytics projects aligned with SM&S priorities, managing milestones, risks and stakeholder alignment.
• Design and enhance robust data pipelines, curated datasets and analytical products supporting manufacturing, process monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating business needs into implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
• Drive adoption of analytics capabilities across drug substance, product, packaging and analytical sciences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, IT or related field (Master’s preferred) with 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, data engineering or analytics.
• Proven ability to independently lead complex technical workstreams in a regulated, matrixed environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and unit operations across drug substance, product and packaging.
• Experience traveling to manufacturing sites (estimated <10% of time).
