Associate Data Scientist - Supply Chain

About the role

The Associate Data Scientist - Supply Chain supports data science initiatives that drive business profitability, greater efficiencies and a better customer experience. The role works closely with Data Scientists and/or Senior Data Scientists to build solutions using advanced analytics methods and algorithms to identify trends and provide business solutions. Depending on the team, it may require developing skills in specializations such as optimization, computer vision, recommendation, search or NLP. The position reports to a manager or above, has no direct reports and requires no travel.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms and models applied to large datasets to create business insights.
• Support data science projects by analyzing data to solve business problems, with high efficiency and quality.
• Consult with Data Scientists or Senior Data Scientists on selecting, using and interpreting advanced analytical methods.
• Learn the assigned business areas to incorporate business-specific knowledge into solutions.
• Communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, support reports, updates and presentations, and highlight the impact of recommendations.
• Keep up to date on industry trends and best practices, and apply what is learned.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: Master's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics.
• Preferred: experience in predictive modeling, data mining and data analysis, and in data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Preferred: basic exposure to prescriptive modeling (optimization, computer vision, recommendation, search or NLP).

Required skills

• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: experience with a modern scripting language, preferably Python.
• Preferred: experience running queries against data, preferably with Google BigQuery or SQL.
