Associate Data Scientist - Decision Analytics (Customer Experience Economics)

About the role

The Associate Data Scientist on the Customer Experience Economics team supports data science initiatives that drive business profitability, operational efficiencies and an improved customer experience. The role sits within Decision Analytics, an internal data science team embedded in Finance, and works with partners across Customer, Delivery and Finance. It suits a curious, agile learner who can quickly adapt to new business contexts and data landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms and models applied to large datasets to create business insights.
• Support data science projects with effective analysis that solves business problems, consulting with Data Scientists or Senior Data Scientists on the choice and interpretation of advanced methods.
• Learn the assigned business areas to tailor solutions with business-specific knowledge.
• Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, and support reports, updates and presentations.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices, and apply what is learned.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Preferred: Master's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in business intelligence and analytics.
• Preferred: experience in predictive modeling, data mining and data analysis, and in data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Preferred: basic exposure to prescriptive modeling (optimization, computer vision, recommendation, search, NLP).

Required skills

• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: a modern scripting language, preferably Python.
• Preferred: running queries against data, preferably with Google BigQuery or SQL.
