Associate Business Development Director - Real-World Evidence

About the role

IQVIA is looking for an Associate Business Development Director focused on Real-World Evidence (RWE) in Carlsbad. The role secures and retains business through professional, consultative, proactive sales directed at decision-makers and decision influencers at existing and new clinical sponsors. Candidates must live in the same country as the job.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect and pursue new business opportunities within specified customer accounts and build long-term relationships with key decision-makers.
• Maintain knowledge of IQVIA's services to identify cross-sell opportunities and stay aware of competitors' activities, positioning and pricing.
• Identify customer needs, propose strategies and solutions, coordinate proposals and prepare and lead sales presentations with the team.
• Follow up on sales, drive completion of contractual documents and monitor customer satisfaction through regular contact.
• Establish and execute a sales plan for each target account, record sales activities in the CRM system and prepare sales activity reports for Sales Management.
• Act as liaison between customers and IQVIA's technical and operational groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10 years of related experience, including 3 years in a relevant industry (CRO/Real-World) and/or sales; equivalent education, training and experience also accepted.
• Proven track record at mid-level and high-level contacts, with a record of customer contacts at outsourcing, procurement and mid-management levels.
• Excellent business and industry awareness, analytical skills, ability to work under tight deadlines and independently while collaborating with others.

Required skills

• Preferred: understanding of RWE methodologies, data sources and evidence-generation strategies.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The potential base pay range is $89,900 to $250,400 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; incentives, bonuses and benefits may also apply. About 30% travel is expected based on location.
