Associate, Accounting

About the role

Treaty Oak Clean Energy, a utility-scale clean energy platform based in Austin, Texas, is looking for an Associate, Accounting to support its day-to-day accounting operations, including transaction processing, reconciliations and close support. The role suits early-career professionals who want experience in a complex, multi-entity accounting environment within a high-growth renewable energy company. The Associate partners with Corporate Finance & Compliance, FP&A, Tax and Project Finance to ensure accurate data flow and helps improve processes as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and support monthly close procedures
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
• Assist with accounts payable processing and related workflows
• Support tracking and recording of project-related transactions
• Maintain organized documentation to support audits and internal controls
• Assist in preparing schedules and audit support materials
• Partner with other functions such as FP&A and treasury to ensure accurate data flow
• Contribute to process improvements and standardization efforts

Required profile

• 2-3 years of accounting experience, including public accounting or relevant industry experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles
• Exposure to multi-entity or project-based accounting environments
• CPA or interest in pursuing a CPA is a plus

• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
