Associate, M&A Diligence & Risk

About the role

Equal Parts is building an operating system for modern insurance agencies through acquisitions, in-house operations and AI systems. It is hiring an Associate, M&A Diligence & Risk to join a small senior deal team that reports to the Head of M&A. The role is hybrid, based in Austin, and pays USD 100,000-130,000.

Key responsibilities

• Run diligence end to end on live acquisitions, starting with support and taking more ownership as volume grows.
• Validate seller representations against source data and size issues with quantified recommendations.
• Partner with business unit leaders and the deal team to ensure full value from each acquisition.
• Work directly with agency owners, asking hard questions and explaining findings clearly.
• Treat regulatory and compliance issues as binary, and distinguish messy books from broken fundamentals.
• Help turn diligence judgment into platform logic and work with product and engineering teams.
• Take on extra scope such as revenue operations, surge support on seller conversations and integration support.

Required profile

• 2+ years in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, corporate development, private equity, investment banking or M&A.
• Strong financial acumen and judgment under incomplete information.
• Comfort with owner-operators and with AI-native tooling.
• Austin-based; exceptional candidates considered nationally.

Preferred

• Insurance sector experience.
• M&A experience with similarly sized targets in other fragmented industries.
