Associate Account Manager - Commercial Lines

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's East Region, a leader in the Business Insurance and Personal Lines marketplace, is hiring an Associate Account Manager in Wilmington. The role provides prompt, accurate and courteous service to customers, producers and company personnel, and supports the acquisition, maintenance, expansion and servicing of commercial accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Serve a smaller book of Commercial Lines accounts and help with collections
• Service Small Business Units as part of the book of business
• Prepare new business quotes and insurance proposals with the Department Manager and/or Producer
• Initiate, screen and prepare endorsement requests, and handle cancellations while trying to save accounts
• Set up new account files, invoice Surplus Lines policies and manage premium finance agreements
• Maintain client activity in the agency automation system and keep suspense items up to date
• Eliminate coverage gaps to reduce E&O exposure, assist prospects until a Producer is available, and help the claims department with coverage information
• Support cross-selling and account rounding, and take on other duties assigned by the Producer or Department Manager

Required profile

• Current Property & Casualty insurance license
• Previous experience in Commercial Lines of Business
• All state licenses required to discuss or sell insurance, or very close to them
• At least two years' experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of commercial insurance products is mandatory; college degree preferred but not required

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong listening skills and attention to detail

• Base salary of $65,000 to $70,000, depending on experience, skills, location and education
