Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Radiation Oncology (Tenure or Clinical Track)

About the role
Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine seeks an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Radiation Oncology. The position can be tenure‑track or clinical, joining a vibrant academic oncology program that supports education, research, and high‑quality clinical care for animals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical expertise and deliver radiation therapy services for all species (approximately 70% of effort).
- Engage in scholarly activity, including teaching veterinary students, residents, and conducting research (approximately 30% of effort).
- Collaborate with medical oncology faculty, residents, and oncology nurses to maintain a busy combined clinical service.
- Utilize advanced imaging and treatment technologies, including a 21EX linear accelerator with cone‑beam CT, SRT, IMRT, 3D conformal, electron radiation, and a strontium probe.
- Contribute to the growth of the clinical trials program and participate in the Comparative Oncology Trials Consortium.
Required profile
- DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
- Successful completion of board certification or equivalent qualification in Radiation Oncology.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical radiation therapy for veterinary patients.
- Commitment to teaching, research, and service in an academic environment.
Required skills
- Operation of linear accelerator equipment (21EX) and associated imaging modalities.
- Proficiency in stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT), intensity‑modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), 3D conformal radiation, and electron beam therapy.
- Experience with cone‑beam CT imaging and strontium probe usage.
- Ability to develop and manage clinical trials in veterinary oncology.
