About the role
Houston Christian University’s Department of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics is seeking a dedicated faculty member to teach and mentor undergraduate students in mathematics within a Christian work environment. The appointment can be at the assistant, associate, or full professor level and is expected to begin in Fall 2026 or later.
Key responsibilities
- Design and teach a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses.
- Plan, implement, and assess classroom experiences in accordance with university policy.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Participate in departmental and university committees, curriculum development, and program assessment.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader community.
Required profile
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence and willingness to employ active‑learning techniques.
- Evidence of scholarship related to teaching and learning or research adaptable for undergraduate projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using instructional technology.
- Commitment to serving students, the university, and the wider community.
