Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Intelligent Infrastructure (Civil & Environmental Engineering)

About the role

Northeastern University seeks tenure‑track faculty at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to lead research and teaching in intelligent infrastructure, construction automation, and adaptive robotics within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an interdisciplinary research program leveraging AI, robotics, digital twins, and sensing for construction, infrastructure systems, and autonomous mobility.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in civil and environmental engineering, AI‑enabled construction management, and related topics.
• Collaborate across the College of Engineering, Khoury College of Computer Sciences, College of Arts, Media and Design, and College of Science.
• Secure external funding and mentor graduate students and post‑doctoral researchers.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership and recognized contributions in AI, robotics, digital twins, or related fields.
• Strong record of interdisciplinary, translational research and ability to obtain research funding.
• Commitment to teaching excellence and mentorship of students.
