Service Technician for Residential Property Maintenance

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that all physical aspects of Greystar’s residential properties in Boston meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This full‑time position involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance).
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including on‑call evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart when required.

Required skills

• EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
