Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science (Tenure‑Track)

About the role

The College of Engineering and Computing at Texas A&M University‑Texarkana seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Science. The position will teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to the department’s research and service missions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver three courses per long semester using in‑person, online, and hybrid formats.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide student‑centered mentorship.
• Engage in scholarly research and professional service consistent with tenure‑track expectations.
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching or assisting in undergraduate courses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States at the time of hire (no sponsorship).
• For Associate rank: documented scholarly accomplishments, at least five years of experience as an Assistant Professor, and a record of research and service.

Required skills

• Proficiency with development tools such as Eclipse.
• Experience using statistical and data‑science platforms like R‑Studio.
• Familiarity with Generative AI technologies.
