About the role
The University of Miami School of Architecture seeks full‑time, tenure‑track faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The position emphasizes a research‑focused agenda in architecture, integrating design‑based and applied research with teaching and mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead an independent research program aligned with strategic areas such as Sustainable and Resilient Design, Building Technology, Environmental Systems, Landscape, Design Computation, and Digital Fabrication.
- Secure external research funding and produce peer‑reviewed publications in leading journals or books.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise studio projects, and mentor students in research and design.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives and promote social and environmental resilience within the campus and broader community.
Required profile
- PhD preferred or a terminal professional degree with substantial professional experience in architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain external research grants and a strong record of scholarly publications.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and fostering a sense of belonging among diverse student populations.
