Assistant/Associate Professor – Accounting & Information Assurance

About the role

The Accounting & Information Assurance (AIA) Department at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park, seeks to hire faculty at the assistant or associate level beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will engage in high‑impact scholarly research, deliver high‑quality teaching across undergraduate, MBA, MS, and PhD programs, and contribute to departmental and university service.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct top‑level research in accounting, information assurance, or related fields.
• Teach courses at the undergraduate, MBA, MS, and PhD levels, integrating current research and practice.
• Participate in departmental, school, and professional service activities.
• Mentor graduate students and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in accounting, information assurance, or a closely related discipline, completed at the time of application.
• Demonstrated record of research excellence (publications, conference presentations, or a strong job‑market paper).
• Excellent teaching abilities with a commitment to innovative, research‑informed instruction.
