About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Facilities & Operations leads the University of Miami’s campus infrastructure strategy, focusing on innovative solutions and operational resiliency. This senior leader partners with university executives to ensure safe, efficient, and future‑ready facilities that support the institution’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute plans to improve building systems and controls.
• Manage departmental budgets, ensuring projects align with financial parameters.
• Maintain an attractive, welcoming, and safe facility environment.
• Recruit, train, supervise staff and prepare performance reports.
• Define and implement best‑practice projects across facilities.
• Assist with internal audits, compliance testing, and risk assessments.
• Oversee internal controls, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and university policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities, operations, or related management.
• Strong knowledge of business and management principles.
• Proven ability to direct, manage, evaluate, and improve department operations.
• Experience setting strategic goals, delegating tasks, and supervising teams.
