Assistant Transportation Researcher

About the role

The Assistant Transportation Researcher supports principal investigators in transportation planning and policy research. Working under general supervision, the role involves literature reviews, surveys, statistical and GIS analyses, and preparation of reports and proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Support PIs with data collection, GIS‑based analyses, literature reviews, and related research activities (≈40%).
• Organize, synthesize, and archive documents, data sets, models, and metadata (≈15%).
• Prepare written reports, technical memoranda, and survey/interview findings (≈15%).
• Develop and deliver presentations and assist in proposal preparation (≈20%).
• Interact with sponsors and potential clients as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Public Services and Administration, or equivalent.
• No prior experience required; ability to work under supervision and collaborate on multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
