Assistant Superintendent – Construction

About the role

D.R. Horton, the largest homebuilder in the United States, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent in managing community job sites for residential home construction. The role focuses on quality control, schedule adherence, safety enforcement, and customer satisfaction throughout the building process.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to verify workmanship quality and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Schedule and accompany all inspections, and walk completed homes before homeowner walk‑throughs to ensure completeness and cleanliness.
• Conduct homeowner orientations, address walk‑through items, and coordinate repairs.
• Assist in supervising subcontractors, monitoring quality, safety, scheduling, and cost control.
• Enforce site safety programs and D.R. Horton cleanliness standards.
• Help manage construction materials to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
• Support the construction schedule to deliver high‑quality homes on time and within budget.
• Provide superior customer service and maintain positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months to two years of related construction experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between construction sites.
• Ability to work overtime and additional hours as needed.
