Assistant Store Manager

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is looking for an Assistant Store Manager for its store in Greenville, NC. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations, manages the store during the Store Manager's absence or when working opposing shifts, and leads the team in serving customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers and supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs.
• Work with the Store Manager to keep the retail sales counter adequately staffed during peak hours and assist in setting team goals, giving feedback, coaching and mentoring, and keeping team members up to date on their training.
• Help with hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and taking part in interviews, evaluating candidates and collaborating with management on selecting qualified team members.
• Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy and that buy-online/ship-to-store, hub-and-store and DC add orders are processed in a timely way, with customers contacted on shipment arrival.
• Use the electronic outside purchase order ledger so special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently, and process returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately, staging returned merchandise correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before it leaves the store, communicate Zipline messages and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Make sure team members follow company policies, including the posted work schedule and clocking in and out.
• Perform store opening and closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money and deposits, preparing bank deposits, turning on night security lights, locking doors, arming/disarming alarms and securing delivery vehicles.
• Assist the Store Manager in maintaining the building, parking lot, signage and lighting, computer hardware, service and test equipment and delivery vehicles.

Required profile

• Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.

Required skills

• Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification and ASE Certification.
