Assistant Store Manager - Auto Parts Retail

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for its store in Glassport, Pennsylvania. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations, manages the store during the Store Manager's absence or when working opposing shifts, and leads the team in serving customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs such as Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot and others.
• Work with the Store Manager to keep the retail sales counter adequately staffed during peak hours (lunch, late afternoon, evenings, weekends).
• Help set team member goals, give feedback, coach and mentor, and make sure team members stay current on their training.
• Answer the telephone according to company policy and process buy-online/ship-to-store, hub-to-store and DC add orders promptly, contacting customers on shipment arrival.
• Use the electronic outside purchase order ledger so special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently.
• Process returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately and stage returned merchandise correctly.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before it leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages, delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and ensure team members follow the posted schedule and clock in and out correctly.
• Perform store opening and closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money and deposits, preparing bank deposits, turning on night security lights, locking doors, arming/disarming alarms and securing delivery vehicles.
• Help maintain the building, parking lot, signage, lighting, computers, service/test equipment and delivery vehicles.

Required profile

• Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages is desired; Spanish is highly desired.

Required skills

• Certified Parts Professional Certification and ASE Certification are desired.
