Assistant Residential Manager

About the role

The Assistant Residential Manager works alongside the Residential Manager to ensure a safe, supportive, and serene living environment for residents in the Chenango Region. This role combines leadership, direct care, and administrative duties to meet resident needs.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, train, and supervise support staff in coordination with the Residential Manager.
• Coordinate daily resident planning, weekly meetings, and trip logistics.
• Mentor new hires during their first six months.
• Ensure accurate documentation and shift report completion.
• Oversee active programming, daily planners, goals, and service delivery.
• Conduct medication audits, MAR checks, and manage prescription orders.
• Provide direct care, including medication administration and assistance with medical appointments.
• Attend required training, staff development, and meetings.
• Provide on‑call oversight during work hours and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred (required for Golisano Program).
• Minimum two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Completion of Springbrook New Manager Orientation and Leadership Training.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and meet physical lifting requirements.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to learn additional computer software as needed.
• Capability to lift 50 lb independently and assist with heavier loads.
